Almost done!

Being pregnant has never been one of my favorite things to do. I just don't make a very good pregnant person. I am always sick, tired, uncomfortable, and pretty much miserable. I noticed a book the other day that sums up the way I feel about pregnancy, Pregnancy Sucks: What to Do When Your Miracle Makes your Miserable. It isn't the baby part that I don't like. I love feeling the baby in those earlier months when it feels like soft butterflies in your stomach. I relish in the ultrasounds and seeing the little peanut turn into what looks more like a baby. And I even love hearing, "It's a girl!" three times in a row. I do not, however, love having a head stuck up in my ribs and feet that are continually kicking me in my cervix. I do not relish in wake up after only being asleep for 2 hours and feeling like every muscle and bone in my body is going to break in pain. Then tossing and turning for another 2 hours until finally I find the zombie me sitting on the couch after the 3rd bath of the day, drinking water, taking 2 more Tylenol, and praying for some relief. Yes, this is my life right now.

I'm 38 weeks pregnant today. Hey, I know how hard it is to get pregnant. I know what it's like to have miscarriages. It's heartbreaking. And I wouldn't want to trade all the pain and discomfort for not being able to have that little baby in my arms at the end of it all.

In my sleep deprivation, I feel that peaceful voice speaking into my soul. He says to me,

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28

“Be still and know that I am God!” Psalm 46:10

"I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint." Jeremiah 31:25

This is IT!

Well, this is it. We will be officially done with having children on February 22nd. My husband, Bryan will be going in for a certain procedure that prevents those swimmers from running into any more of the little eggs that might be lying around my fallopian tubes any time in the future. I think that getting ready to turn 30 and getting ready to POP with our 3rd child has got me thinking about a lot of things lately.

1. What do I want to accomplish and put my stamp on this world?

2. How do Bryan and I raise 3 little girls to become 3 amazing women with a heart for God?

3. How do we make it adulthood with these girls without any of the "stuff" that goes on in the lives of teenager infecting them? ie. pregnancy, drugs, self-esteem issues, etc.

4. What will life be like with a 5 year old, 2 year old, and newborn?

I don't really know all the answers to these questions. I do know that in the last 6 years I have been on a roller coaster ride that wasn't really all that much fun. I'm ready to get off. I'm ready to get on the exhilarating ride that takes me through a whirlwind of goodness. I have a peace about my future as the mom of Grace, Hope, and Noel. I have a peace about the future of my role as Bryan's wife. I also have a peace about the future of who is at the core of my being. Being a servant of Christ and doing all that he has called me to be and do.

Terrible 2's

Who did it? Someone did! Someone took my lovely baby girl and has replaced her with this child that throws a tantrum at EVERYTHING! And I do mean everything.

Hope wants juice, but has had enough juice so Hope will proceed to throw herself on the floor and cry. Loudly.

Hope wants to watch tv but has already watched tv and needs to play with something else. Mommy tries to distract her attention on something else. Hope is too smart for this and proceeds to throw her body on the floor in protest!

Hope doesn't want the cereal that Mommy has put in the bowl. She's mad about it and proceeds to stomp and cry LOUDLY.

Hope needs her diaper changed. Hope doesn't want her diaper changed. Hope would rather just wear the same diaper all day long no matter how wet it is. It could be sagging past her knees and Hope would still throw her body around in a what looks like a convulsion and cry to the top of her lungs in protest.

Hope doesn't want to sit at the kitchen table with the rest of her family and eat dinner. Hope will stand in the middle of the kitchen and yelling.

Hope want a cookie. We don't have any more cookies. Hope WANTS A COOKIE NOW! Mommy says NO. Hope.........you guessed it.......... throws her entire being on the floor and cries in protest.

Hope wants, Hope wants, Hope wants.

Mommy says no, no, no.

Hope cries, cries, cries.

Mommy wants to run away.
